Solo Travel 101

Hi my name is Juan and I’m from Wales.

I’ve spent the last 13 years travelling at home and abroad (22 countries and 2 continents), sometimes with friends and family, but mostly on my own.

So, I feel I’m in a great position to impart some knowledge on how to travel better as a solo traveller.

I originally made a facebook page in 2014 called Juan World Travel. YouTube, Instagram and Twitter followed.

In February 2024 I decided to rebrand to Solo Travel 101 and create my first website.

Hopefully I can inspire you to have awesome travel experiences that you can cherish for the rest of your life.

Arizona 2011, where I truly fell in love with solo travel at the age of 20 during a 3 month volunteer conservation experience.

France 2013, where I spent 1 year living and working as an outdoor instructor.

Mexico 2015 where I lived and worked as a TEFL teacher for 1 year. Truly life changing and where I learnt my first foreign language Spanish.
